Senior Spotlight | Deacon, Class of 2024
When Deacon walked into the studio for his senior experience it was clear this wasn't going to be an ordinary shoot. We kicked things off in downtown Independence, using the urban landscape as a canvas for Deacon's vibrant, modern look. A key part to his session was to not only showcase his sneakers but also select locations to mirror the blend of classic and contemporary outfits.
True to Iowa's whims, the weather decided to play a game of hide-and-seek with the sun, giving us a perfect mix of shadows and light, and helping us capture a range of moods.
But as the golden hour approached, we found ourselves amidst the quiet fields and open skies of the countryside. Here, in the soft golden light, Deacon's images took on a timeless quality and really gave contrast between the urban and rural locations.
The most unexpectable moment was towards the end when Deacon, fully immersed in the experience, was willing to be late to his basketball practice. It wasn't just about getting the perfect shot; it was about embracing the moment, living in the now.
